Flatbed Truck Driver Seriously Injured in NC Highway 50 Accident near Benson, North Carolina
A gentleman operating a flatbed truck was seriously injured on Monday in an accident involving a tractor trailer and a pickup truck. The accident apparently happened when the operator of a pickup truck that was headed south on Highway 50 ran into a tractor trailer that was making a left turn. The pickup truck then spun into the northbound lane and hit the flatbed truck. The flatbed truck then spun out of control and went into a nearby field.
The driver of the pickup has been charged with DWI and a failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision. Given that this accident happened at around 7:00 am, the circumstances surrounding the pickup drivers impairment are questionable and deserve additional investigation.
