Kau Xiong Killed in NC I-40 Truck Accident
A woman from Conover, North Carolina named Kau Xiong was tragically killed in a wreck on Wednesday involving a tractor-trailer. The wreck happened on U.S. Interstate 40 near exit 118 near Hildebran.
According to available information, Ms. Xiong was traveling west on Interstate 40 when a tractor-trailer moved into her lane. As a result, Ms. Xoing was forced to steer her vehicle into the grass before over-correcting and crossing back into the lanes of travel. Apparently, she then rolled and flipped over the guardrail and landed in the eastbound lanes.
The available information regarding this wreck indicates that the movement of the tractor-trailer was the cause. The driver of the tractor-trailer has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to maintain his lane.
Ms. Xioing was 43 years of age.
