Everette Davis Killed in Lumberton NC Crash With Logging Truck
A gentleman named Everette Davis was killed on Thursday when he was hit by a logging truck that failed to yield at an intersection west of Lumberton, North Carolina. The accident happened at the intersection of N.C. Highway 72 and Chicken Road at around 11:15 am. According to available information, Mr. Davis was traveling on NC 72 when the logging truck pulled into the intersection.
The driver of the logging truck has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to yield.
Mr. Davis was 78 years old and from Red Springs, North Carolina.
At this point, it is not clear why the truck driver failed to yield to Mr. Davis. There are reports that, despite bad weather, there was adequate visibility at the time of the wreck. We expect more information may be available once the State Highway Patrol completes its investigation.
