David Felker Seriously Injured When Rear-Ended by International Truck in Winston-Salem NC
A gentleman named David Felker was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon when he was hit from behind by an International 8000 Truck in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The accident happened on Silas Creek Parkway at Fairlawn Drive. According to available information, Mr. Felker was sitting at the stoplight at the intersection when the Internal truck failed to reduce speed and struck the back of Mr. Felker’s vehicle.
Mr. Felker was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Winston-Salem police are still investigating this accident. Based on the facts of this case, one immediate concern is whether the driver of the International truck was distracted through the use of a cell phone or similar device. Hopefully, the police will be able to determine this through their investigation. If not, it would be important to require that the driver of the International preserve all of the cell phone data and not erase anything from the phone. In many cases with similar facts, a lawyer will immediately send a preservation of evidence letter to a driver to ensure that this information is preserved and this should probably be done here.
