A terrible crash in Pink Hill, North Carolina involving a dump truck has resulted in two deaths. The crash happened on US Highway 258 on Monday at approximately 9:00 am between the intersection Highway 258 and Jonestown and Pleasant Hill roads.
According to reports, the dump truck crossed the center line and struck a Honda Accord head-on. The driver of the Honda Accord, Marie Holt and her 7-year-old son were killed. The driver of the dump truck has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
Reports indicate that the State Highway Patrol is still investigating this crash. Typically, investigations of multiple fatality crashes such as this one will involve the State Highway Patrols accident reconstruction unit. Ultimately, a report should be prepared that provides detailed information about why the truck crossed the center line.
There is very little information about the dump truck or the driver except that the driver was from Nashville, North Carolina. It is not clear if the driver was hauling a load for any particular company.

Reidsville NC Box Truck Wreck Results in One Death

The wreck happened around 8:11 am at the intersection of NC Highway 87 and Barnes Street. According to available information, the box truck failed to stop at a red light and hit the minivan on the driver’s side. The driver of the minivan was taken to Annie Penn Hospital but did not survive.
The driver of the box truck has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and a red light violation.
There is no indication as to why the driver did not stop at the stop light. Hopefully, investigators will be able to determine if the driver was distracted at the time of the wreck or if there are other contributing circumstances.

Kau Xiong Killed in NC I-40 Truck Accident
/0 Comments/in North Carolina Truck Accidents /by Michael MaloneA woman from Conover, North Carolina named Kau Xiong was tragically killed in a wreck on Wednesday involving a tractor-trailer. The wreck happened on U.S. Interstate 40 near exit 118 near Hildebran.
According to available information, Ms. Xiong was traveling west on Interstate 40 when a tractor-trailer moved into her lane. As a result, Ms. Xoing was forced to steer her vehicle into the grass before over-correcting and crossing back into the lanes of travel. Apparently, she then rolled and flipped over the guardrail and landed in the eastbound lanes.
The available information regarding this wreck indicates that the movement of the tractor-trailer was the cause. The driver of the tractor-trailer has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to maintain his lane.
Ms. Xioing was 43 years of age.

Charles Jones Killed in Aberdeen NC Dump Truck Accident

The accident apparently happened as crews were working to expand the Sandy Springs neighborhood in Aberdeen. According to available information, a dump truck had become stuck and workers were attempting to pry the truck loose with the aid of a backhoe. During this process, Mr. Jones apparently became stuck under the back wheels of the dump truck.
Mr. Jones was 57 years old and was from Shannon, North Carolina.

Lumberton NC Tractor Trailer Crash Results in Two Deaths and Other Serious Injuries
/0 Comments/in North Carolina Truck Accidents /by Michael MaloneA very serious accident involving a tractor-trailer in Lumberton, North Carolina has resulted in two deaths and serious injuries to two others. The accident happened just after 1:00 pm on Highway 72. According to available information, a tractor-trailer ran off the road to the right and then came back onto the road and over-corrected this traveling in the oncoming lane. The tractor-trailer hit a car driven by Wendell McRae of Lumberton despite Mr. McRae’s attempts to avoid the collision.
The tractor-trailer was apparently hauling flammable substances because the tractor-trailer caught on fire. The fire then spread to Mr. McRae’s car. Mr. McRae and a 29 year old passenger were rescued from the burning car and taken to McLeaod Hospital in Florence, South Carolina. Tragically, a one year old child in the McRae’s vehicle did not survive. The driver of the tractor-trailer also did not survive.
There is an on-going investigation as to why the tractor-trailer driver initially veered off the roadway.

Nika Smith Killed and Rodney Lancaster Seriously Injured in Vanceboro NC Truck Accident

The accident happened at around 7:00 pm on Wednesday evening on Mile Road when a man driving a truck crossed the center line of the roadway and hit three pedestrians. Ms. Smith was one of the pedestrians hit. Another pedestrian, Rodney Lancaster suffered serious injuries.
The driver of the truck ended up hitting a culvert and colliding with several trees. This driver fled the scene on foot but was apparently apprehended later by law enforcement officers. Charges are pending.
This is a very tragic accident and it is not clear why the driver of the truck failed to properly maintain his lane of travel. Hopefully, more answers will be available as the police investigation unfolds.
Fuquay-Varina NC Tractor Trailer Accident Results in One Death
