A gentleman named Ricky Armwood was tragically killed on Tuesday when he was hit from behind while driving his US Postal delivery truck. The wreck happened on Morganton Road near St. Mary’s Parkway in Fayetteville, north Carolina at around 12:25 pm. According to available information, Mr. Armwood was hit by a woman driving a Dodge Journey. The woman has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
Mr. Armwood was 58 years old and was from Rosewood, North Carolina.
Based on the available information, it is not clear why the driver of the Dodge did not stop before hitting Mr. Armwood. In today’s world, we are seeing more accidents of this type due to distracted drivers. The accident apparently happened when the operator of a pickup truck that was headed south on Highway 50 ran into a tractor trailer that was making a left turn. It certainly appears that the driver of the Fedex truck failed to do so and now a young man has lost his life. The driver of the Fedex vehicle has been charged with several infractions including misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.

Sleeping Driver Causes NC Wreck and Injuries to Gisela Chadwick

Apparently, the driver of a Jeep fell asleep at the wheel and crossed the center-line hitting Ms. Chadwick. The driver of the Jeep has been charged with misdemeanor careless and reckless driving. Ms. Chadwick was transported to Scotland Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
The accident certainly could have been much worse. Anytime a driver crosses the center-line there is the potential for significant impact. Ms. Chadwick and the driver of the Jeep are very fortunate in this situation.
